MANILA – The Filipinos for Obama Movement congratulates Democratic Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois for winning the first United States presidential debate by a landslide margin of 20 points against Republican Sen. John McCain of Arizona.
 
With almost one million votes including those who believe it was a tie, respondents in an MSNBC survey believe that Obama got 56 percent as against McCain with 36 percent.
 
About 53 percent of more than 900,000 survey respondents believe Obama won the debate as against 33 percent who believe that McCain did, while 6 percent believe it was a tie and about 7 percent are not sure.
 
In a separate USA Today/Gallup poll, Obama leads by 12 points at 46 percent as against McCain at 34 percent.
 
In a CBS News survey, uncommitted voters have seen Obama as the debate winner, with 66 percent saying the Illinois senator will make the right decisions when it comes to the current U.S. economy versus 42 percent for the Arizona senator.
 
Meanwhile, a CNN poll reveals that 58 percent of respondents believe that Obama will better handle the American economy as compared to 37 percent for McCain, while 52 percent believe he will even better handle Iraq than 47 percent of those who believe that this is his rival’s supposed strength.
 
Overall, 51 percent of those that CNN surveyed say Obama did a better job in the debate than 38 percent who think McCain did.

MANILA – The Filipinos for Obama Movement expresses its supreme satisfaction to the latest ABC News and Washington Post survey showing a super-surge for Democratic Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois as the next President of the United States, defeating Republican Sen. John McCain of Arizona by a significant margin of 9 percent.
 
Filipinos for Obama and their affiliates in the Philippines-America for Obama (Phil-Am for Bam) movement express elation to the recent poll showing Obama now leading by 52 percent against McCain at 43 percent, with 53 percent of registered U.S. voters calling the American economy as the single most important issue in the U.S. election on November 4, up 12 points from 41 percent in two weeks.
 
The latest ABC News/Washington Post survey also reveals that registered voters think Obama, together with his running mate Democratic Sen. Joe Biden of Delaware as the next U.S. Vice President, can better understand the economic troubles of voters and can better address them than McCain and his running mate, Republican Gov. Sarah Palin of Alaska.
 
Meanwhile, the latest joint survey from Quinnipiac University, washingtonpost.com, and Wall Street Journal shows that Obama leads McCain by strongly significant margins in election battleground states, with 7 percent in Wisconsin, 4 percent each in Colorado and Michigan, and 2 percent in Minnesota.
 
The Quinnipiac/washingtonpost.com/Wall Street survey conducted from September 14-21 shows that Obama beats McCain in Wisconsin with 49-42 percent, in Colorado with 49-45 percent, in Michigan with 48-44 percent, and in Minnesota with 47-45 percent, with an error margin ranging from 2.6-2.7 points.
 
Moreover, the latest Marist Poll shows that Obama trounces McCain by 10 percent in Iowa, 9 percent in Michigan, 6 percent in New Hampshire, 5 percent in Pennsylvania, and 2 percent in Ohio in various surveys conducted by the third week of September with a 4-4.5 percent margin of error.
 
In the Marist survey, Obama edges McCain in Iowa with 51-41 percent from September 18-21, in Michigan with 52-43 percent from September 16-17, in New Hampshire with 51-45 percent from September 17-21, in Pennsylvania with 49-44 percent from September 11-15, and in Ohio with 47-45 percent also from September 11-15.
 
Add to this, the latest LA Times/Bloomberg national poll shows Obama leading McCain by 4 points at 49-45 percent, while the latest NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll conducted September 19-22 shows Obama with a 2-point edge at 48 percent and McCain at 46, with an error margin of 3 points.

MANILA – The winning Democratic ticket of Senators Barack Obama of Illinois and Joe Biden of Delaware as the next President and Vice President respectively of the United States is ahead by around 8 to 9 percent than the losing Republican ticket of Arizona Senator John McCain and Alaska Governor Sarah Palin.
 
The latest CBS survey conducted August 29-31 showed that the Obama-Biden ticket garnered 48 percent, defeating the McCain-Palin partnership at 40 percent, with a margin of error of just 3 points.
 
Meanwhile, the latest USA Today/Gallup poll dated August 30-31 has Obama alone garnering 50 percent, beating McCain at 43 percent with an error margin of 2-3 points.
 
Moreover, the latest, Diageo/Hotline survey dated August 29-31 showed Obama getting 48 percent, as compared to McCain with 39 percent.
 
The Filipinos for Obama Movement and its affiliates in the Philippines-America for Obama or Phil-Ams for Bam movement remain confident that Obama will become the next American President and Biden as his vice president and second-in-command.
